Electronic commerce, commonly known as e-commerce or eCommerce, is a type of industry where the buying and selling of products or services is conducted over electronic systems with no barriers of time or distance. eCommerce draws on a wide range of technologies and typically uses the Web at least at one point in the transaction's life-cycle.
